Somatic cell hybrids (this page) |
PCP libraries, recognizing a definite region of a chromosome, are derived (via Alu-PCR) from somatic cell hybrids retaining fragments of human chromosomes. We have characterized about 900 of such fragments both from normal and radiation hybrids.
The PCPs for each chromosome are grouped in two or three categories. The RHU group indicates hybrids retaining fragment(s) from a single chromosome. In the remaining groups the fragment of interest is not present as the only human contribution: RH are radiation fragments obtained from hybrids retaining more than one chromosome; HY indicates fragments from normal hybrids. Each PCP is represented by a solid bar specifying its extension and subchromosomal location. The bar is flanked by the code number, so that you can open and see the corresponding images.
Note:only strong signals have been included in the diagrams. Some faint signals have been omitted also in the merged images. This just means that they are not appropriate as PCP. |
