In South Tyrol you will find toponymy in both German and Italian languages (Goldrain-Coldrano, Meran-Merano, as examples).

The Bolzano–Merano route is operated exclusively by the Italian national railway, Ferrovie dello Stato (FS).
Rome -> Florence
-> Bologna -> Verona Porta Nuova -> Bolzano (and vice versa) and
Milan -> ..... -> Bolzano routes are also served by Italo trains.

Meran-Goldrain-Mals route is served by local trains (map). Tickets cannot be booked on the Ferrovie dello Stato website.
However, it is possible to purchase paper tickets at the Ferrovie dello Stato station in Meran.
Alternatively, you can use the Altoadigemobilità mobile app (available on the Google Play Store) to purchase these tickets.

Map of Italy with the train route from Rome and Milan to Merano and then Goldrain

Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian Railways website)

The journey from Roma Termini to Merano takes approximately 6 to 7 hours.

Roma Fiumicino airport ("Fiumicino aeroporto" for train tickets) is connected to Roma Termini by train (32').

Milano Centrale - Meran The journey from
Milano Centrale - Meran takes approximately 5 to 6 hours.
From Malpensa airport to Milano Centrale there are buses and trains. Buses go direct; trains, only some. In both cases it takes about an hour.

Arrival by car: the garage (map). To enter the garage you can use the room's key card.

Alternative route from Zurich:

You can use the sbb.ch website.
Basicly:
From Zurich HB (main station) direction Chur (Chur) to Landquart, change to the train for Zernez (for some it is necessary to change at Sagliains). From Zernez bus to Malles via Passo del Forno. From Malles train to Goldrain.

Disadvantage: the journey involves frequent changes, which may be challenging for those unfamiliar with European public transport. Connections are tight, with little room for delays.
That said, the bus ride is particularly scenic, especially in good weather.
